Which airsoft battery should you choose for your AEG?
The choice of airsoft battery directly affects the rate of fire, runtime, and lifespan of your gearbox. Two technologies dominate the market:
The LiPo battery (7.4V or 11.1V) offers a high discharge rate (15C to 25C), better trigger response, and a compact design (stick, nunchuck, mini). It requires a MOSFET or ETU to protect the electrical contacts of your AEG. The NiMH battery (8.4V or 9.6V) is more forgiving, making it ideal for entry-level replicas without a MOSFET.
For a full day of play, opt for a capacity of at least 1600 mAh. Regarding connectors: the Mini Tamiya is the most common standard; the T-Dean reduces electrical resistance and improves performance. Also check out our airsoft battery chargers and connector adapters to complete your gear.
